Privacy: JorisLab on WhatsApp

Who we are
JorisLab, Doorn, the Netherlands, Chamber of Commerce number 42123242. Joris Deumens is responsible for what happens with your data. Reach him at joris@jorislab.com.
What this number does
An AI agent on this number helps people get clear on what they want to achieve, and JorisLab makes them a proposal from it. A conversation starts with a link from Joris or with the start link on jorislab.com. Joris also uses the number for his own notes.
If you write without a link
You get one line that says a conversation starts with a link. We do not keep your message. We keep your number and the time for 30 days, so we answer once a day and not more.
If you start a conversation
We hold:
- your WhatsApp number and profile name
- what Joris told the agent about you, or what you tell it yourself: your name, role, company and country
- your messages, and the text of your voice notes. The sound is not kept
- what a picture or a file you send shows, in words. The picture or the file itself is not kept
- a summary of your answers
- what the agent looked up about your company on the public web
- the proposal and its versions
- on the proposal page: when you or a colleague first opened it, comments, and an accept
- a work mail address, if you give one
- if you plan a call: your mail address, the meeting in our calendar, and a recording of the call and its text. Every call is recorded, and the invitation says so
- the names and addresses of colleagues you share the page with
What we use it for
To understand your idea and write you a proposal, and to do the work if you accept. We hold it because you asked us for a proposal. We do not sell it, share it or advertise with it. We do not use it to train AI models.
If you stop midway, the agent reminds you once, within a day.
Who reads it
- During the conversation: an AI agent. It says so in its first message.
- After it: Joris Deumens, and the people of JorisLab who would do the work.
- The agent decides nothing about you. Joris reads the conversation and approves every proposal before you get it.
Who handles it for us
- Meta: WhatsApp carries the messages.
- Anthropic: the AI model that reads your messages and writes the replies and the proposal.
- OpenAI: turns a voice note into text.
- Hetzner: our server, in Germany. Everything listed above is stored there.
- GitHub: a private repository that holds a summary page of your request.
- Microsoft: our mail and calendar, and Teams when you plan a call.
- Cloudflare: in front of the proposal page.
- Google: only when you sign in to the proposal page with Google.
Meta, Anthropic, OpenAI, GitHub, Microsoft, Cloudflare and Google are American companies and can handle it in the United States.
How long we keep it
Until you ask us to remove it.
Removing it
Say so in the chat, or mail joris@jorislab.com. Within 30 days we remove your conversation, the summary, the proposal and its page. Server backups expire seven days later.
We cannot remove copies that Meta, Anthropic or OpenAI hold under their own rules. Each of them has its own request procedure.
Your rights
You can ask us what we hold about you, have it corrected, have it removed, object to our use of it, and get a copy you can take elsewhere. You can complain to the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).
Changes
When this changes, the date at the top changes. People with an open conversation or proposal are told.
